Kung Fu literally means energy (Kung) and time (Fu). In China, the word Kung Fu came to be identified with the martial arts because according to Chinese tradition, proficiency in a martial system required at least ten years of devoted practice. Today, Chinese Kung Fu suits or Kung Fu Uniform are worn not only for martial arts practices, but as costumes for any special occasions, like Chinese New Year and Halloween or costume parties. Kung Fu suits usually come with a long or short sleeve shirt with Mandarin collar, Chinese frog treat buttons, fold-up cuffs on the sleeves and matching pants. Men usually wear the Kung Fu suit, but it is becoming increasingly common for women to wear them too.
